Prairie Dogs

Back in the late ‘90s, the Abilene Prairie Dogs were members of the Texas-Louisiana league, and returned for one season in 2012 with the North American League.

The Prairie Dogs were (and are) a prevalent part of Abilene’s storied baseball past. This 2025 season, the Flying Bison are excited to throw it back to the ‘90s every Thursday at home as we honor the prairie dogs and everything they did for the history of baseball in Abilene.
